“Making policy behind closed doors”
It has now been two months since the function distribution of the candidate board was announced. Renske, Jochem, Emma, Annemiek, Lea and Ruben have the honor to run the association next year and they have big plans for their management during their year.
Currently, the candidate board travelled to Germany to make their policy for the coming academic year. Lea: "We went on a holiday with the six of us for a midweek, but ‘beleidsweekend’ just sounds better than ‘beleidsmidweek’." This year the candidate board doesn’t stay in a cottage or bungalow, but in an ammunition bunker in Germany. "This way we can drink beer in peace and quiet," Ruben said. "Of course we occasionally make a little bit of policy. We certainly are excited to start with our year leading the association." Lea: “The only shots you can hear are from the corks of the prosecco bottles.”
During a trip to the supermarket there was a little misunderstanding. Lea: "When we walked in, there were only contruction workers instead of checkout girls." It turned out that the candidate board had walked into a supermarket that was currently being renovated. "Ultimately, we went to another supermarket and we could still get beer."
The candidate board is in Germany until Tuesday to make policy behind closed doors and will then be fully present during all activities of the Kick-In. Want to know what activities are all organised during the Kick-In? Please check aegee-enschede.nl/en/kick-in/program.
