Introductie Internal Affairs Arno
Dear reader,
My name is Arno de Vries and I am the Internal Affairs of the current board. This week its my turn to tell the story of my life that has lead me to finaly join AEGEE.
On the 12th of oktober 1997 I was born at the bottem of the Zuiderzee, the newly gained land after the war, a true polder man. After me came a sister and a brother. My first seven years of my life I spent in Swifterbant, a village within the municipality of Dronten. Afterwards I moved to another village in the municipality of Biddinghuizen. Here I practiced soccer for years, like almost all boys of my classroom then. After seven years we moved again, now to Dronten. There I went to play basketball and started working at the Albert Heijn
After six years I was done with high school and couldn't wait to get to know new people during my student life. Enschede really spoke to me, a small university with sober students, which I like. I decided to study Creative Technology. After I found my student house and finished decorating my room, the Kick-In started. After three days I signed up for AEGEE drunk, without knowing what a students Assosiation really was.
Afterwards it appeared a wise decision. I formed my first Year club here, called HJC Kuriton and became active in committies. I did the SjaarCie and the HAIP committee. After a year my Year club broke apart and I joined HJC Vesuvius. I still eat every tuesday as often as possible with the most prominent Year club of AEGEE-Enschede.
After two years of studying I thought it was time for something different. A board year seemed a good idea to attain new skills and knowledge, that I was not available to develop during my study. AEGEE seemed ideal to me. Thats why I applied and I now sit at the office, busy with the assosiation.
Next to AEGEE I also spend time at the gym, with my girlfriend and back home. Though the gym did not really work out past two moths. But that will come back when I am able to discipline myself enough to ben at the gym at 8:00 AM.
I'll see you at the pub!
